Lyrics4Life 2027 Songwriting Competition: Canadian Entries Open
Overview
The Lyrics4Life Songwriting Competition is open to Canadian citizens through November 8, 2026. It offers Youth Songwriters (ages 13–18), Emerging Songwriters (18+) and Established Songwriters (18+) categories. All genres are welcome, but the organizer evaluates the song rather than production quality or performance polish.
Eligibility and terms
Each entry costs CAD$20. Songs must be fully original and not partly owned by a music publisher, and AI-generated work is not accepted. Entrants submit a SoundCloud link, typed lyric sheet, short biography, photo and social links. Several songs may be entered, although only one submission per songwriter may advance. Under-18 entrants need parent or guardian consent.
Application
Nine finalists are planned, three in each category. Finalists must attend rehearsal in Ottawa on January 30–31, 2027 and the dress rehearsal and live awards event on February 24–25, with travel and accommodation at the finalist's expense. Use the official page to confirm category-specific eligibility and register.
