A selective training-and-recording programme in Prague

Opernfest Prague invites emerging and professional solo singers worldwide to its Voice Fellow week, scheduled for 18–25 July 2027 in the Czech capital. Auditions are entirely by recorded video. The discounted early application deadline is 1 November 2026, followed by a regular deadline of 15 December. There is no stated upper age limit. Admission is not an offer of a salaried opera-house position, and the organiser makes clear that programme participation involves tuition rather than employment pay.

What the application requires

Applicants provide a current résumé, professional headshot, two contrasting vocal video selections and the relevant application fee via YAP Tracker. The organiser describes a selective process without double casting, including individual daily coaching, opera and language study, masterclasses and professional-development sessions. Opportunities may include professional recordings with orchestra or piano, according to the final programme. Applicants should check which services are guaranteed for their accepted track rather than interpret every promotional example as an individually contracted deliverable.

Scholarships and costs

The YAP Tracker listing explicitly states that participants do not receive a salary. Merit scholarships may be offered to especially qualified applicants, but the full tuition amount and the remaining travel/accommodation charges should be checked on Opernfest Prague's current admissions information. An early-bird submission fee is not the same thing as the eventual programme fee. International singers should clarify Czech travel and study documentation before accepting an offer.

Why to check the organiser's history

Opernfest Prague publishes programme information and identifies connections to experienced Prague opera performers and coaches. YAP Tracker lists the institution, application period, professional development goals and a contact address. Its focus on recordings and individual tuition makes it a training and showcase opportunity rather than a guaranteed stage role or paid performing contract. Confirm costs, artistic commitments and recording licences directly with the organiser.

Official call, rules and application

Information reviewed on 23 October 2026. Always confirm current eligibility, deadline and time zone, costs, recording requirements and licence/contract conditions on the organiser's site before submitting or paying.
