Open Call: KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2027 | International Product Design Competition
Overview
KOKUYO Co., Ltd. is accepting designs for stationery, furniture and tools used at home, in education or at work. The 2027 theme is “dialogue”, and entries are accepted from Japan and overseas.
Eligibility and work requirements
Individuals, groups, companies and organisations may enter regardless of age, nationality or residence. Minors need consent from a parent or legal representative.
Entries must be original and unpublished, including on social media. Simultaneous submission to other competitions is not allowed. There is no limit on the number of entries.
Deadline and prizes
Deadline: 7 October 2026 at 12:00 noon Japan Standard Time (JST).
One Grand Prix of JPY 2,000,000 and three Merit Awards of JPY 500,000 each. Prizes are paid in Japanese yen after applicable tax deductions.
Submission and final judging
Register through the official entry site and upload one A3 portrait presentation sheet in Japanese or English, as a JPEG or PDF (maximum 5 MB). Final judging is planned for 13 March 2027 in Tokyo. Finalists must prepare a model and present in person or online. Intellectual property rights in winning designs pass to the organiser; submitted sheets and models are not returned.
