Organizer: Trieste Flute Association.
Deadline: 15 September 2026.
Entry fee / cost: €50 for each submitted work.
Eligibility: Open to composers of all nationalities, with no age restriction. The submitted work must be unpublished and must not previously have been performed, entered in or awarded by another competition.
Opportunity / work requirements: The work must be for flute ensemble only, last no more than 8 minutes, and use between 7 and 11 players. The permitted ensemble consists of 1-2 piccolos, 3-4 concert flutes, 1-2 alto flutes, 1-2 bass flutes, and 1 contrabass flute. Extended techniques are permitted. The score must be produced in Finale, Sibelius, or Dorico and submitted anonymously under a pseudonym or motto. One composition may be submitted.
Support / prize / benefit: The listed awards are €1,000 for first prize, €500 for second prize, and €250 for third prize, with up to three special distinctions. The winning work receives its world premiere at Trieste Flute Day on 7 December 2026. The organizer may also consider non-winning works for later performance by the Trieste Flute Ensemble.
Application method: Send the anonymous score PDF and an MP3 or MIDI audio realization to concorso.composizione@triesteflute.it, following the official rules and payment procedure.
Schedule / additional conditions: The award ceremony and world premiere are scheduled for 7 December 2026. The rules provide for recording, broadcasting, and online dissemination connected with the competition performances.
