Royal Caribbean Entertainment is holding in-person auditions in New York City for professional singers and dancer-singers to perform in its shipboard production of WE WILL ROCK YOU, built around Queen's pop-rock repertoire. The public call takes place on 2 November 2026 for principal singing/acting roles and 3 November for the dance-and-vocal ensemble, with callbacks on 4 November. Rehearsals are scheduled from 13 March to 13 May 2027, and the advertised shipboard contract runs 14 May 2027 to 10 March 2028 aboard Anthem of the Seas. Selected performers will also appear in the ship's signature production THE GIFT, typically three to four shows weekly for each production.

Specific audition times and location

  • Principal singer/actor open call: Monday 2 November 2026, sign-in from 9:30 a.m. New York local time.

  • Dancer/singer ensemble: Tuesday 3 November, sign-in from 9:30 a.m.

  • Invited appointment auditions begin at 10 a.m.; open call continues after appointments until 6 p.m., subject to capacity.

  • Callbacks: Wednesday 4 November 2026.

  • Location: Pearl Studios, 500 Eighth Avenue, New York, NY 10018.

  • Applicants with an agent can seek a scheduled audition through Breakdown Services; the open call has limited slots.

Audition repertoire and performer profile

Principal candidates should prepare two contrasting songs, one traditional musical-theatre selection and one pop/rock piece, and bring sheet music, a personal songbook, résumé and current headshot. The director may request additional 16–32-bar contrasting selections and a short movement combination. Ensemble candidates should be prepared to dance first, sing a 16-bar pop/rock excerpt and demonstrate strong stage acting. Acrobatic skills are useful but not a universal requirement. Candidates need experience in theatre or concert performances and strong rock voices.

Roles and the shipboard working reality

Featured roles listed by the company include Killer Queen, Khashoggi, Galileo, Scaramouche, Britney, Meat and Pop, alongside dance-and-vocal ensemble. Some roles require specific belt, rock, baritone or falsetto ranges and movement skills. The show's published character-age and voice ranges are casting descriptions, not a claim that every applicant is equally suitable for every part. All candidates must have a valid passport and be willing and able to travel internationally on Royal Caribbean's vessels for the contract duration.

Pay, fees and travel arrangements

The first-party audition notice does not specify a confirmed salary figure or guarantee that housing, airfare or visa costs are the same for all selected performers. Third-party job reposts show salary ranges, but individual contracts should be verified with Royal Caribbean Entertainment before anyone relies on them. This is a professional casting opportunity, not a student competition with cash winner prizes. The public open-call notice does not prescribe an application charge; avoid paying anyone who promises to sell a shipboard part.

Organiser record and official casting

Royal Caribbean Entertainment produces original and licensed stage productions for Royal Caribbean cruise ships, including large musical theatre performances. WE WILL ROCK YOU is an established Queen-song musical, and THE GIFT is an additional shipboard show. The company operates its own audition listings, specifies roles and venue and provides downloadable role material, allowing singers to verify casting details through the operator rather than an unofficial broker.
