The New Colossus Festival 2027 Seeks Emerging Indie-Rock Bands Worldwide
Showcase opportunity
The New Colossus Festival is inviting emerging original indie-rock and alternative bands from around the world for its March 9–14, 2027 showcases on New York City's Lower East Side. The music-led event looks for strong live performers who are ready to reach new audiences and international music-business contacts.
International eligibility
The organizers aim for a lineup of roughly 75% international artists and 25% US-based acts. A band may be established in its home market but still be considered emerging in the United States. Cover and tribute bands are not eligible. Performers from the 2019–2026 editions should contact the organizers first. Groups should apply with the same lineup they intend to bring to New York, not a substitute solo act.
Application documents
The official application requests an applicant's name and role, artist or band name, home city and country, genre, a link to a current single, biography link and live-performance video. Artists are also asked about recent tours, notable concerts, press coverage, the previous year and their plans for 2027. The organizer says that applications cannot be completed from mobile devices.
Deadlines and performance rules
Applications close December 1, 2026. Selected performers must observe the NYC radius restriction: no other public concerts in the area between February 1 and March 31, 2027. International artists are responsible for determining which United States travel and work authorizations apply; an invitation does not itself guarantee legal entry or permission to work.
Fees and performance conditions
There is a nonrefundable US$100 application fee. Applicants must budget for transport, accommodation, promotion and any documentation rather than assume these are covered. The organizer states it cannot legally pay international artists who lack appropriate work authorization. Accepted artists aged 21 or over receive a complimentary festival badge; younger musicians may perform but have limited access to age-restricted venues.
