Lipscomb Songwriting Contest 2027: International Youth Entries
Overview
Lipscomb University's Commercial Music department is accepting entries for its 2027 Songwriting Contest through March 15, 2027. Applicants do not need to be connected with the university, and the official page says qualifying submissions are welcomed from around the world.
Eligibility and terms
The songwriter and every co-writer must be 13–19 years old and must not have started university courses. A song may be in any genre, but it must contain both music and lyrics and run from two to six minutes. Each songwriter may submit only one song; submitting more than one disqualifies both entries. A lyric sheet and an audio file or eligible streaming link are required.
Application
Lipscomb states that it does not retain rights in submitted songs. Finalists are scheduled to be announced by March 30, 2027, with the winner announced April 15. Finalists receive feedback from published commercial songwriters on the faculty, and listed prizes include music-production hardware and software.
