Lewisville Lake Symphony 2027 International Voice Competition: $2,000 Top Prize, Videos Due 18 December
Age-restricted international competition for opera singers
Lewisville Lake Symphony's 2026–27 International Competition for Voice is accepting recorded applications until 18 December 2026. Applicants must be aged 21–32 on the live-audition date of 13 March 2027, and previous first- or second-prize winners cannot reenter. The first selection is from video, with up to twelve singers invited to the final round at the University of North Texas in Denton, near Dallas.
Three videos and a four-aria repertoire list
Candidates upload separate videos of three uncut opera arias recorded no earlier than 1 September 2025. They also give a list of four contrasting arias, including at least one Italian and one English selection, sung by memory in the original language. A piano or orchestral accompaniment is allowed for recordings; the singer's own teacher may not play the accompaniment. The list is fixed after the December deadline, so preparing four compatible arias in advance matters.
Application, accompanist and prize costs
The application charge is US$35, non-refundable. Finalists can bring their own pianist or use one provided by the competition for an additional US$50, including an optional short rehearsal. First and second prizes are US$2,000 and US$1,000, respectively, linked to participation in the orchestra's September 2027 Opera Gala; a winner who cannot attend the gala may forfeit the award. Finalists pay their own travel and accommodation.
Who runs the contest
Lewisville Lake Symphony is a regional US orchestra with a public competition page and concert history under music director Adron Ming. Its YAP Tracker listing provides a dated application and contact details. Applicants should check the final-round schedule and financial obligations directly; an international title does not imply visa sponsorship or travel coverage.
Official call, rules and application
