CreArtBox Call for Scores 2026: International Chamber Music Submissions for 2027–28 Performances
New York-based contemporary music organization CreArtBox has opened its CA1/2026 International Call for Scores, offering composers an opportunity to have chamber works considered for performance during the 2027–28 season. Applications opened on 22 October 2026 and close on 15 December 2026. The organization welcomes composers from different countries and career stages; this is not restricted to students or American residents.
What the call is seeking
CreArtBox develops performances that bring contemporary chamber music into dialogue with other art forms. Its core performance forces include flute, violin, viola, cello and piano, although the call does not limit submissions exclusively to that exact combination. Works of approximately 5–15 minutes and practical chamber ensembles are useful points of reference when selecting a score. Applicants should compare their instrumentation and duration against the current official instructions.
Submission materials and cost
The application fee is US$20. Each composer may submit two works as PDF scores, with a recording or MIDI realization for each, together with programme notes and biographical information as requested. The initial review is anonymous: remove the composer's name from the scores and their filenames, not only from the email or application form. Submitting an identifiable PDF risks undermining blind evaluation.
What selection means
The announcement concerns consideration for performance and recording in New York in the 2027–28 season. It should not be confused with an automatic paid commission: selection, fees and any further arrangements are governed by the organizer's subsequent communication. Composers with fully notated, rehearsal-ready works are likely to find this more relevant than artists seeking a funding-only grant.
Before paying, confirm the permitted instrument combinations, audio links or upload formats, anonymity rules and exact closing time on the organizer's original call. Keep copies of the submitted versions so that score and audio materials remain consistent.
