Clara Haskil Piano Competition 2027: CHF 25,000 Prize, €100 Entry, April 7 Deadline
The 32nd International Clara Haskil Piano Competition will take place in Vevey, Switzerland, from 26 August to 3 September 2027. The competition is a major international platform devoted to young piano performers and to the musical ideals associated with the celebrated pianist Clara Haskil. Applications opened on 31 March 2026 and remain open until 7 April 2027. The 2027 rules are unusually precise about birth dates: applicants of any nationality must have been born between 4 September 1998 and 3 September 2009, inclusive. The nonrefundable registration fee is €100, and the principal award is CHF25,000.
Video qualification and deadline
Apply through the official Acceptd portal no later than 7 April 2027.
Upload two prescribed preliminary video files: selected movements from one Mozart piano sonata, and Robert Schumann's Variations on the Name 'Abegg', Op. 1.
Each prescribed piece must be filmed in a single continuous camera take, with no audio or video edits within the work.
The face and hands must remain visible; the Mozart movements are combined into one upload, while Schumann is a separate recording.
The 24 quarter-finalists are expected to be announced by 3 May 2027.
This is not a free-entry competition. A €100 fee is paid at registration via Acceptd and is explicitly nonrefundable. Check the exact Mozart sonata and movement pairing in the official PDF before recording; the rules give exceptions for particular sonatas. Other repertoire requirements become substantially more complex in the public quarter-final, semifinal and final stages.
Four stages of competition in Vevey
The selection begins with video screening. The 24 selected performers then play quarter-final solo recitals of 55–60 minutes from 26 to 29 August 2027. Six semifinalists perform a chamber-music piano quintet and a recital on 31 August and 1 September, with professional musicians provided for the chamber work. The three finalists play a complete Mozart concerto with an orchestra conducted by Gábor Takács-Nagy on 3 September. Public rounds are streamed, and the judges may withhold the Clara Haskil Prize if no performance reaches the required level.

The sole Clara Haskil Prize winner receives CHF25,000; the other two finalists receive CHF5,000 each.
Audience Prize: CHF3,000. Modern Times commissioned-work prize: CHF3,000.
Student critics' Coup de Cœur Prize: CHF3,000. Children's Corner Prize: CHF2,000.
