Música Viva International Electroacoustic Composition Competition 2026

Eligibility: Open to composers of any nationality and age. Each composer may submit one work. The work must not have been commercially published or awarded a prize in another national or international competition. Previous Música Viva prize-winning composers cannot submit during the two years following their prize award.

Composition / submission requirements: Submitted works must be electroacoustic studio pieces for loudspeaker projection only, without live performers other than the sound projectionist. Works may use up to eight channels and must last between 5 and 15 minutes.

Prize / benefit: The jury will award one work with a €1,000 prize, and the work will be performed in concert by the Miso Music Loudspeakers Orchestra in Lisbon in 2026.

Application method: Send one ZIP file via WeTransfer or an equivalent file-transfer service to concurso@misomusic.com. The ZIP must contain the requested composer information, work information, photo, and a stereo AIFF or WAV file; multichannel works must also include the individual channel files.

Recommended for: Electroacoustic composers with fixed-media works suitable for professional loudspeaker diffusion.

Applicant note: The file-transfer name must include both the work title and the competition name, according to the official rules.
