Deadline: 1 August 2026 at 23:59 GMT.
Entry fee: 5,000 yen, non-refundable, approximately 35 to 40 USD according to the official rules.
Eligibility: Open to all nationalities, with no age limit. Composers who have a close personal relationship with any member of the organization may apply only if they disclose this on the application form.
Composition / submission requirements: The competition is for classical and modern classical music. Instrumentation and duration are free, from solo works to choir, concerto, or orchestra. Electroacoustic works are accepted. Applicants may submit a full score and/or recording. The score may be an explanatory document instead of traditional notation. Submitted works may already have been performed or awarded. Multiple works are allowed with separate forms and fees.
Prize / benefit: Grand Prix: 100,000 yen with a certificate. Up to 35 special-prize winners may receive certificates. Results are scheduled to be sent by email and published on 31 August 2026.
Application method: Submit through the official application form. Applicants may upload a score PDF and/or provide a URL for an audio recording, provided the privacy settings allow the jury to access it until the results are announced.
Recommended for: Composers looking for a flexible international competition that accepts a wide range of classical, modern classical, and electroacoustic formats.
Applicant note: Because the format is broad, applicants should make the audio URL clear enough for the jury to understand the work without additional materials.
