Official call/opportunity page URL: https://ipcl.lu/composition-competition-2026/
Deadline: 1 July 2026.
Entry fee: €30 per submitted work.
Eligibility: Open to participants of all ages. Multiple works may be submitted, but each work requires a separate registration.
Composition / submission requirements: The work must be for mallet duo and last 7 to 8 minutes. Each player may use marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, and/or glockenspiel. Electronics are not permitted, and the official regulations strictly prohibit the use of artificial intelligence in the composition process. The score must be submitted as a legible anonymous PDF.
Prize / benefit: Prize money is €2,500. The winning work will serve as the set piece for the semi-final round of the IPCL - Mallet Duo 2027 Competition, with a public world premiere in Luxembourg in February 2027.
Application method: Register through the official IPCL website and submit the score, CV, identity document or birth certificate, proof of payment, and a recent black-and-white photograph as required.
Recommended for: Composers with a precise and performable percussion language, especially those who can write effectively for keyboard percussion.
Applicant note: Because the winning work becomes a competition set piece, clarity, idiomatic writing, and reliable notation are especially important.
