DV Young Sounds 2027: €10,000 Recording Prize Package, Global Solo and Ensemble Applications
An international recording-focused music award
The seventh DV Young Sounds International Recording Competition will open entries on 1 November 2026. Promoted by Da Vinci Publishing, the initiative is aimed at young performers and ensembles who wish to turn a distinctive classical music project into a professionally recorded and distributed release through Da Vinci Classics. This is a recording-production opportunity rather than a guaranteed concert engagement.
Who can enter and which music is eligible
The official rules welcome solo performers and groups from duos to sextets, of any nationality, on all instruments and in voice. Musicians should be aged 18 to 33 at registration, though ensembles of three or more may include one member above the age limit. A significant repertoire restriction applies: works by living composers or composers who died after 1953 are not eligible. Previously selected winners cannot enter again.
Recording awards versus cash amounts
The published first prize has a total stated value of €10,000, including a €4,000 monetary award alongside recording, publication and promotion. The second prize has a stated value of €5,000, including €1,000 in cash. Therefore the headline €10,000 must not be described as a cash-only award. Winning projects are intended for professional production and international release.
Application materials, fee and schedule
Applications open 1 November 2026 and close 30 September 2027. The online form requires a project concept and full programme, performer biographies, a 15–30 minute unlisted YouTube or Vimeo performance video and payment evidence. Entry fees are per project: €100 soloist, €120 duo, €140 trio, €160 quartet, €180 quintet and €200 sextet, non-refundable. The organiser tells applicants to wait for the application opening before paying.
Organiser record and how to apply
The competition site links to past editions and released recordings, while Da Vinci Publishing operates the associated recording-and-distribution programme. Applicants should read recording rights, repertoire, delivery and performance conditions carefully before submitting payment. Results are planned by 15 November 2027, with winning recordings to be completed by 15 December 2028. Information verified 24 October 2026.
