Eligibility: The public call welcomes artists and producers working with sound and music, across all genres, creative specialisms, and backgrounds. It is aimed at early- and mid-career artists as well as established practitioners seeking a substantial change in their work. Opportunity / work requirements: OCM will select five artists or producers for a six-month career and creative development programme running from October 2026 to March 2027. The scheme focuses on music and sound experiences for unusual, outdoor, public, and digital spaces. BOOM is not a commissioning scheme, and there is no requirement to present a completed work publicly at the end of the programme.
Support / prize / benefit: The OCM team will provide mentoring and guidance. The five places include a Sound UK BOOM Fellow and a Climate BOOM Fellow developed with CEDA, with the latter focused on data sonification. The public page does not state a cash award or production budget.
