Berliner Kompositionspreis 2026

Deadline: 15 September 2026.

Entry fee: 50 EUR.

Eligibility: Applicants must be 35 or younger, with the cut-off date listed as 15 September 2026. The call is for composers working in classical, experimental, electroacoustic, jazz, or genre-free music.

Composition / submission requirements: The call is for an unpublished and unperformed work for duo formations using violin, viola, cello, and/or piano. The required work length is 10 to 12 minutes. Required materials include the full score as PDF, individual parts as a joined PDF, a short biography of up to one page, a portrait photo, and the application fee.

Prize / benefit: Main prize: 5,000 EUR and world premiere at the SONARLOFT concert at Kühlhaus Berlin. Two development prizes: 1,000 EUR each. The official page also lists certificate and personal support, and access to the SONARLOFT network.

Application method: Apply through the official application link on the Berliner Kompositionspreis 2026 English information page. Jury deliberation is scheduled for September/October 2026, the winner announcement for 5 October 2026, and the live concert and award ceremony for 28 October 2026 at Kühlhaus Berlin.
