1. Applicant, Composer and Certificate Delivery Details

Composer’s legal full name

The legal name will be used only for certificate delivery and identity verification when necessary. It will not be published or printed on the certificate unless it is also entered as the name to appear in published results and on the certificate.

2. Work Details

3. Submission Materials

An external link to an audio or video recording is required. You may optionally submit sheet music, lyrics, or a description of the work as a PDF. The link must require no sign-in or password and must remain accessible at the same URL with unchanged content until results are announced.

Optional: upload one PDF containing a score or supplementary information such as the work structure, purpose, relationship to visuals or narrative, or lyrics.

Provide a publicly accessible streaming or download link. No sign-in, individual approval, access request, or password may be required. Keep the same URL and the same content accessible until results are announced.

4. Optional Lyric Competition Entry

This combined form may be used only when the composer and the lyricist are one and the same person. Additional co-lyricists may be added. If the composer and lyricist are different people, use the dedicated Lyric Competition form.

To enter, complete the lyricist and lyrics fields below and add JPY 2,000 (approx. USD 13 as of 2 Sep 2026).

The Lyric Competition has no feedback. The feedback option below applies only to the Popular & Media Music Composition Competition.

If the Section 1 composer or any co-lyricist needs to declare a teacher–student, family, or other direct or personal relationship, use the dedicated Lyric Competition form.

The two competitions are separate and are judged separately.

Popular & Media deadline: 31 January 2027, 23:59 GMT. Results: 28 February 2027.

Lyric Competition deadline: 1 March 2027, 23:59 GMT. Results: 5 May 2027. When using this combined form, the Lyric entry must also be submitted by 31 January 2027, 23:59 GMT.

5. Consolidated Jury Feedback

Consolidated jury feedback is one report compiling comments and advice from multiple jurors. Individual jurors’ comments are not sent separately. The report will be sent to the primary contact email within two months after the results are announced. It is not a score sheet or a reconsideration of the result. Choose one of the nine delivery languages below. The report will be provided in the selected language.

Pricing (charged in JPY; approximate USD equivalents):

• Through 17 January 2027, 23:59 GMT: JPY 5,000 (approx. USD 31; application only) / JPY 10,000 (approx. USD 63; with Popular & Media feedback)

• 18–31 January 2027, 23:59 GMT: JPY 7,000 (approx. USD 44; application only) / JPY 12,000 (approx. USD 75; with Popular & Media feedback)

• Optional simultaneous Lyric Competition entry: +JPY 2,000 (approx. USD 13). The Lyric Competition does not offer feedback.

Approximate USD amounts are based on the Bank of Japan exchange rate checked on 2 September 2026 (JPY 159.70 per USD) and are for reference only. Payment is charged in JPY; the final USD amount depends on your card issuer or PayPal exchange rate and fees.

Payment is collected online by credit card or PayPal. The form automatically blocks a fee that does not match the current GMT application period, the Popular & Media feedback option, or the simultaneous Lyric Competition entry.

7. Rules and Consent

I have read and agree to the official Competition Rules and the handling of personal data. If any third party has contributed to the submitted work or holds rights in it, I confirm that I have obtained all permissions necessary for the submission and for the organizer to introduce any prize-winning work from the relevant lyricists, arrangers, performers, singers, record producers, producers and other recording or music-production contributors, publishers, labels, copyright management organizations and other rights holders. I understand that one form must be submitted for each work and that an application is valid only when both the form submission and online payment are completed within the applicable application period.
