Eligibility	Open to composers of any age.
Opportunity / submission requirements	The competition invites a new original choral work for the Advent season. The required work is an unaccompanied SATB choral work of up to five minutes, written for liturgical use in the context of an Advent service at Wells Cathedral. Composers may write or compile their own text if it meets the Advent liturgical and contextual requirements, or may use one of the traditional text options listed on the page.
Prize / benefit / support	Prize: £1,500. The winning composition receives a world premiere by Wells Cathedral Choir during the Cathedral’s Advent Procession on Sunday 29 November 2026. The winning composer is invited to attend, with UK travel and one night’s accommodation provided.
