Eligibility: Applications are open to individual artists only. Applicants must be based in a Creative Europe country, be available for the full residency period, show a strong interest in experimental ensemble-based practices, and be no older than 35 at the application deadline.

Opportunity / submission requirements: The residency takes place in Nicosia, Cyprus from 23 October to 22 November 2026. Four individual composers are selected. Final pieces must be 7 to 10 minutes and written for the full Toyful Music Festival Ensemble. Solo formats and small chamber subgroups are not permitted. The residency focuses on acoustic interplay, toys, objects, and conventional instrumentation; electronics and fixed media are not supported. Required materials include a project proposal of up to 300 words or a 2-3 minute video, two work samples with scores and audio/video, a short CV of up to four pages, and a high-resolution photo.

Prize / benefit / support: Selected residents receive travel, accommodation, daily allowance, shared accommodation in central Nicosia, access to a professional ensemble, mentorship, coaching sessions, rehearsal space, production support, and video and audio recording of the final concert. The residency culminates in a public concert and public open studio presentation.
