Fee / cost: 50 euros.

Eligibility: Open to composers of any nationality and citizenship, with no age limit.

Opportunity / submission requirements: The competition offers two alternatives: a composition for solo soprano, string quintet, harpsichord or organ inspired by the Canticle of the Creatures by St. Francis of Assisi; or a free instrumental composition for string quartet. Works must have a maximum duration of 10 minutes. Electronics and instruments outside the listed instrumentation are not allowed. Scores must be anonymous and include a motto or alphanumeric code and the duration. The applicant file must include the completed form, fee receipt, consent declarations, short CV, ID copy, and an audio file such as MIDI or MP3.

Prize / benefit / support: The Francesco Mario Pagano Prize is 800 euros, printed edition by Edizioni et cetera musica, and performance in public concert. The Don Beniamino Cirone Prize is for the best composition by an under-40 contestant born after 1 January 1986, with printed edition and performance. The winning compositions are scheduled for performance within the 2026/2027 program of Salerno Classica Festival and other events.
