Eligibility: The official rules state that adult individuals born after 30 September 1986 are allowed to take part.
Composition / submission requirements: The subject of the competition is a work for string orchestra with a maximum formation of 5-4-3-3-1 and a duration of 5 to 10 minutes. One contestant may submit no more than two pieces. Submitted pieces must not have been previously published or awarded in any other competition. The rules require anonymous postal submission with sealed envelopes, printed scores, a digital version of the score, and an acoustic simulation of the composition.
Prize / benefit: The official rules list First Award: PLN 10,000 and premiere performance of the winning piece during the 14th International Days of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, with professional audiovisual recording of the premiere. Second Award: PLN 5,000. Third Award: PLN 1,000. Up to three Honourable Mentions may be confirmed by diplomas.
Application method: Applications must be sent to the registered seat of the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, Poland, with the note specified in the official rules.
